Regular Program

Program Overview

Applicants for KAIST regular academic program (B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in nuclear engineering) will submit the application proposal to the Office of Admission at KAIST. Applicants are evaluated by KAIST departments in which they intend to register on the basis of their prior performance and professional promise, as evidenced by their academic records, letters of evaluation from individuals familiar with their capabilities, and any other pertinent data they submit.

Applicants for graduate program should obtain the consent of a faculty member who will agree to become her/his academic advisor before sending the application to the Office of Admissions at KAIST. To obtain the consent, the applicants are strongly suggested to contact the coordinator of the department in which she/he wants to enroll and send the preliminary application form and required documents to the coordinator. These preliminary application documents will be forwarded to the prospective advisor and examined for considering the application. After having the consent, the applicants should send the official application form with all required documents instructed in the application guide directly to the Office of Admissions by the application deadline.

In principle, all applicants accepted to the KAIST regular program will pay tuition by themselves. However, possibilities abound for qualified students to receive scholarship from KAIST. Thus prospective students are strongly encouraged to apply for the KAIST scholarship and/or grants.

All the necessary required documents for application and admission to the undergraduate and graduate programs offered by our department are the same as the regular applications of domestic applicants for KAIST. Please refer to the Office of Admissions at KAIST
