A KAIST team led by Prof. Chun T. Rim with the Dept. of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering has received the First Place Winner for 2014 Prize Paper Awards: IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (TPEL).
Each year, the Editors and Associate Editors of the TPEL recognize three 1st prize papers among those published in the TPEL during the preceding calendar year. In 2014, the TPEL published 579 papers totaling in about 6800 pages of Regular Papers, Letters, and Correspondences.
The title of the awarded paper is the‘Generalized Active EMF Cancel Methods for Wireless Electric Vehicles’and this paper newly proposed three generalized design methods for cancelling the electromagnetic field (EMF) generated from wireless electric vehicles (WEV), which can be applicable to any wireless power transfer (WPT) systems.
The award will be delivered to the team at the coming 2015 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Expo in September at Montreal.
Prof. Rim has more than 150 papers and 140 patents in the WEV and WPT fields, and he became the Guest Editor of IEEE (TPEL, TIE, and J-ESTPE).
