Prof. Choi, Sungyeol was awarded as Young Nuclear Professional – Early Career Award at The International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC) 2018 in Bariloche, Argentina in March 2018.

 

International Youth Nuclear Congress, founded in 2000, is a global community of young nuclear professionals under 37 years old from 50 countries. The IYNC was held at Bariloche, Argentina in March 11-17, 2018, jointly with 26th WiN Global Annual Conference. Over 400 professionals were participated in the IYNCWiN18 2018.

 

The IYNC Young Nuclear Professional – Early Career Award recognizes a young professional for meritorious service in the interests of civil society and have made a valuable contribution to nuclear science and applications. To be eligible, a recipient must be a young professional working in the nuclear environment and being 39 years of age or younger.

 

Prof. Choi has studied spent nuclear fuel management, radioactive aerosol science, forensics technology for terror scene investigation, and high temperature electrochemistry. Prof. Choi was a research fellow at Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Harvard University (the world's #1 University Affiliated Think Tank) and a senior researcher at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute.
