Professor Cho, Seungryong received the 2017 Technology Innovation Award from KASIT College of Engineering on December 19, 2017.

Technical Innovation Award of the College of Engineering is granted to the faculty members whose academic, technological or industrial achievements boost the international and domestic reputation of KAIST.

Professor Cho's research group succeeded in the development and commercialization of non-destructive detection technology for cargos processed in the harbor through the innovation in dual energy materials classification using X-ray, and the image reconstruction algorithms which is a key technology for imaging systems to combine the X-ray tomosynthesis and optical tomography targeted at early breast cancer screening. They also developed CT metrology technology that helps the innovation in dental treatment procedures, and therapeutic techniques based on digital impression models jointly with some US companies. Furthermore, they also in the process of American Dental Association standardization of CT metrology technique that improves the accuracy and stability of dental implants.
