Professor Nam Zin Cho was appointed as
'KEPCO Chair Professor' starting from September 1st, 2011.
Prof. Cho received his B.S. in nuclear engineering from Seoul National University and Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from University of California at Berkeley. He worked at Science Applications, Inc in Palo Alto from 1980 to 1982, and at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Long Island from 1983 to 1987. In 1987, he joined the faculty at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Korea, where he is mostly involved in teaching and research in reactor physics and neutron transport computation.
He is Fellow of American Nuclear Society and Associate Editor of Nuclear Science and Engineering. He was the Technical Program Chair for the PHYSOR 2002, a series of the ANS topical meetings on reactor physics, held in Seoul, Korea. From 2003 to 2006, he served as Commissioner of the Atomic Energy Commission of the Republic of Korea. From 2007 to 2008, he was President of Korean Nuclear Society.
