2010-09-14

Professor Soon Heung Chang in Dept. of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering, KAIST, was elected for the 1st vice president/president-elect of the Korean Nuclear Society (KNS) in September. It is known that the title also includes the ‘president-elect’ which means the chance of serving as a President of KNS is given. Professor Chang will be the 24th president after the current president, Cheol-Ho YUN starting next year.

As a committee member of Nuclear Safety Committee, Professor Chang is actively working inside Korea as well as outside Korea. His outstanding performance made himself to work as an Associate Editor-in-Chief of American Nuclear Society (ANS) Nuclear Technology in 2004 and the Fellow of the ANS, which is the highest honorable level in 2006.

Moreover, the contribution of Professor Chang’s work as a vice president on the development of Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) is remarkable.
