Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering

The Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering (NQe) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) invites applications for tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions in all areas of nuclear and quantum engineering with emphasis on nuclear fuels/materials, reactor physics, biomedical applications of radiation, or health physics. A doctorate degree in engineering or science is required. We are looking for individuals with innovative and creative minds, unique skills, and exceptional ideas to define, initiate, and conduct vigorous research of international caliber. The successful applicant should possess excellent teaching skills, a strong background in his or her discipline, and a demonstrated success at collaborative research with willingness to support various global nuclear alliance programs. Professional integrity is a presumed prerequisite. The individual will be expected to teach both in the area of specialty and general nuclear engineering at the undergraduate and graduate level, and to initiate and maintain an independent research program.

 

KAIST is a top-ranked science and engineering university in Korea.  In particular, NQe Dept. can be favorably compared with the best nuclear engineering departments around the world in terms of the key academic indicators such as publications, citations, research funding, and other indices.  All NQe Dept. courses are taught in English. KAIST NQe Dept. is at the forefront of providing quality education and training, and is poised to grow to help meet the worldwide manpower demands that will increase with the anticipated expansion of nuclear technology around the globe.
