On Friday, March 8th, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a symposium titled "Trends and Prospects of Future Radiation Convergence Technology" was held at the 5th floor conference hall of the KAIST Academic Cultural Complex, organized by the KAIST NQE Radiation and Nuclear Medical Engineering Research Center (Director Professor Seungryong Cho, KAIST), in collaboration with the IEEE NPSS Seoul Chapter (President Professor Kisung Lee, Korea University), the Nuclear Medicine Imaging and Equipment Research Association of Korean Society of Nuclear Medicine (President Dr. Seok-Gi Kim, National Cancer Center), the Korean Society of Radiation Research (President Professor Kwangpyo Kim, Kyung Hee University), and the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute Radiation Equipment Cluster Committee (President Dr. Jangho Ha). Approximately 100 professors and graduate students from more than 10 domestic universities studying radiation equipment attended the symposium. After the symposium, at the gathering held at a restaurant in Eoeun-dong, Professor Gyuseong Cho of our department, who first established the symposium, proposed a toast. Then, an interesting scene was created as four generations of professors and students gathered: 1) Professor Gyuseong Cho, 2) Professor Yonghyun Chung of Department of Radiological Science at Yonsei University, a former student of Professor Cho, 3) Professor Cheol-Ha Baek of Department of Radiological Science at Kangwon National University, a former student of Professor Chung, and 4) Dong-Hee Han, who is an incoming research professor of Department of Nuclear Engineering at Kyushu University from April 1st, a former student of Professor Baek.
